Ginny read the letter three times, her eyes widening with each pass. Finally, she couldn’t keep it to herself any longer. “Harry!” she shouted, her voice echoing through their cottage with urgency.

Footsteps thundered up the stairs, and seconds later Harry burst into the kitchen, his hair still dripping from the shower. "Everything alright?" he asked, breathless, his eyes darting around the room for signs of danger.

"No!" Ginny yelled, clutching the letter like it was about to explode.

Harry’s gaze instantly flicked to the high chair, where little James was joyfully slapping his hands into a bowl of porridge, sending bits of it flying across the kitchen. "What’s going—?"

"Oh, we’re fine," Ginny interrupted, rolling her eyes as she saw the familiar tension in Harry’s stance. "Silence the Auror alarms going off in your head. It’s just this. From Luna." She shoved the letter into Harry’s hands, barely containing her grin.

Harry took the parchment, his brow furrowing as he quickly read through the contents. As he reached the end, a small snort escaped him. He looked up at Ginny, an amused gleam in his emerald eyes. "Are we sure this Rolf bloke is a man? And not a very loyal stray dog she met?"

I could’ve just messaged you but I want to get this question out there! So I was wondering: would Renissa ever leave St. Mungo’s or would she remain there for the rest of her life?

Fyi: this all happens shortly after the Battle of Hogwarts, so Voldemort is gone and there’s no one left to threaten Renissa’s safety or punish the Lestrange brothers for going against his wishes to have her killed.

Let’s say it’s post-1998 and Renissa is around thirty-six or thirty-seven? Right? Since she was born in 1962 so that would make her around one of those ages. Anyways, Andromeda somehow finds her at the sanitarium and is so relieved that Renissa is alive that she gets her discharged and brings her to live with her and Teddy?

If I remember correctly, you mentioned to me once that Renissa would’ve been close with the Black sisters, since Tasoula and Druella were best friends at Hogwarts. I understand they would’ve grown up together, and maybe could’ve seen each other as sisters? I feel like Renissa and Andromeda would’ve been the closest since they both didn’t share in their family’s pure-blood ideologies.

I don’t know how Andy could’ve found Renissa, or how she would’ve known to go looking for her if Ren had been registered under an alias. But perhaps maybe Rabastan could’ve told Andromeda? I feel like the two were also pretty close, and I headcanon that at some point Rabastan was a potential husband for Andy.

If Rabastan had lived past the Battle of Hogwarts, Andromeda could’ve visited him in Azkaban and he might’ve told her about Renissa still being alive? That kinda makes more sense to me rather than Andromeda stumbling about Renissa herself.

This ask has actually caused me to reconsider a few things I had planned for Renissa. Originally, I think I've mentioned that she would stay at St. Mungo's for the remainder of her life in an ask I got a while back, but that's probably not going to happen. Renissa will leave at some point, possibly within only a couple years of being admitted there. I feel like she is a character with so much wasted potential, and I don't want to keep her on the sidelines. What you said about Andromeda taking in Renissa after the war is something that I haven't thought about before. If Andy did end up finding Renissa and discharging her from St. Mugo's sometime after the war, then she still wouldn't remember Andromeda or who she was before Rodolphus and Rabastan obliviated her. As I've said before, Renissa isn't ever going to get her memory back, unfortunately, but the idea of Andy being reunited with her childhood friend is so bittersweet and it could work as a possible ending for the lost Lestrange girl. A while back, I actually thought of having a Lestrange OC marry into the Scamander family as a way to create a parallel between Newt and Leta. I was thinking that maybe Renissa could've married Lycidas Scamander? One of Tina and Newt's twins. I know I haven't gone that far into depth with this character, since I believe I only posted a few aesthetics and a small strip of headcanons for him. A problem with this would be that Lycidas is about sixteen years Renissa's senior... I mean that isn't exactly a problem but it's not very ideal. I guess it isn't that big of a deal seeing as Nymphadora and Remus were maybe thirteen years apart? I can't remember. Age gap couples aren't really my thing, especially when we started getting into modern times where it becomes less common. Lycidas would've met Renissa at St. Mugo's since he actually works there as a Psychopathologist. Obviously, Renissa wasn't actually mentally ill or anything so I'm not sure how she'd fit into his department, but they did know each other. Lycidas was kindhearted and sympathetic to his patients, and I guess that contributed to him later earning Renissa's trust. Keep in mind that by this point it's 1980 and Renissa is eighteen, and according to the birth date I gave Lycidas (1946) he's like what... thirty-four? Now that kinda concerns me lmao but I could always change it if I wanted to. Of course, that would make Newt and Tina significantly older when they had their twins (around their fifties?) so idk how I feel about that.

If Renissa marries Lycidas then she would have Rolf by the time she's nineteen, since I believe he's about the same age as Luna. That would mean that Lycidas and Renissa would've had to get married or start an official relationship within the first year she was admitted, which to me seems a bit rushed. I'm still thinking of loop holes around all of this, but I might just end up trashing this idea altogether if I'm being completely honest with you. Side note: the name Rolf would go perfect with my headcanon for the lestrange family naming their children with letter 'r' names and also the common theme of their meanings having to do with wolves.

extra side note: Renissa had the gift of foresight and I bet you they drove her a little mad, so I guess there is a possibility that she would've been put in a ward for the mentally ill? I like to think she drew out her visions on the walls of her room.

Sorry, but for me J.K didn't write good romances. We don't know Astoria, Rolf and Hannah. Lupin and Tonks appeared out of nowhere. Jily is undrinkable. Hinny has little or no development over 7 books even though they have really known each other since volume 2. Romione is really not great from my point of view. Don't even get me started on Dumbledor and Grindelwald...

Bill & Fleur are the only ones, among the young characters, that I find cute and even then it's a very secondary couple. Honestly, Molly and Arthur are the only real Harry Potter goal couple in my eyes. And yet, they also haven't seen them much !

Hi I’m new to this page but I’ve been reading a lot of your storylines on a Lestrange oc. Renissa? I think I’m spelling that right. Anyways, I just wanted to ask if there’s a possibility for Barty to have resorted her memories? So when Barty gets out of Azkaban he eventually finds Renissa and restores her memories maybe before he goes to Hogwarts as Mad-Eye Moody. Didn’t you say that Barty and Renissa were friends?

I don’t plan to give her memories back but this absolutely makes sense to me. I love the idea of Barty finding Renissa and seeing how well she’s doing with her husband and son. Maybe he would’ve known that she was still alive, possibly being the only one Rodolphus or Rabastan told when they obliviated her? But then again that would put her at a higher risk of being discovered by Voldemort so probably not. Idk Barty has his ways lol I’m sure he would’ve found some record from St Mungo’s or maybe he just saw a newspaper article of her wedding announcement and recognized her? There’s a few flaws in my explanations so if you have any suggestions as to how he could’ve found her please let me know.

Barty still might’ve come to visit her, but he wouldn’t make his presence known and instead opt to just watch from a distance as she played in the front yard with Rolf or something. I’m sure he would’ve found some sort of peace knowing that at least one of his friends found their happy ending, even in the situation Renissa was put in. Barty might be loyal to Voldemort but he wouldn’t never tell him that Renissa was still alive, nor would he let that slip to anyone else so the secret was safe with him.

Perhaps he would’ve subtly told Rodolphus and Rabastan that he saw Renissa, you know? Idk how that would come about but the reassurance that their sister was happy and safe would also give the brothers some peace of mind.

since nuna (neville x luna) are and have been one of my otps since i first became part of the hp fandom, whenever i write next gen lorcan and lysander scamander are actually lorcan and lysander longbottom and they're neville and luna's kids. but recently i had an idea for the twins that i love even more

so whenever i write next gen, lorcan and lysander also have a younger sister named alice who's 6 years younger than them. in my head, alice looks a lot like neville and the twins both look mostly like luna. i also have an oc named ivan scamander who is rolf and hannah abbott's, and he's 3 years younger than the twins.

so what if, instead of the twins being neville's from the start, they're from luna's first marriage to rolf?

luna and rolf meet and become friends when rolf returns to hogwarts for his eighth year. they get married soon after graduation, even though they're mostly just good friends. they have the twins together and when the twins are a year old, they end up divorcing.

pretty soon after rolf and hannah meet at the leaky cauldron and start talking. to be honest, hannah getting pregnant is sort of a surprise, and rolf definitely shows up at luna's in a panic when he finds out. he and hannah end up deciding to keep the kid though, aka ivan scamander.

around the same time that ivan is born, luna and neville run into each other at some event or something and start talking again. they write letters back and forth about plants and theories and the latest edition of the quibbler before neville finally works up the courage to ask her out (with a lot, and i mean a lot, of encouragement from harry and ginny) and they start dating. they get married after 2 years and alice is born another year later.

all of that is to say, lorcan and lysander are ivan's half siblings and also have a younger half-sister named alice, and i think that's great

honestly i see rolf as sort of a mess, especially with this au, so he may or may not also get divorced from hannah at some point. idk who he'd date after that - i'm thinking one of the background hufflepuff boys (justin, ernie, or zacharias)

How did you choose Lorcan and Lysanders personalities? I've seen people write them and talk about them tons of different ways, and I'm curious about how you decided because of how well thought out they are in your fic.

That's a really interesting question actually. Okay, so, basically I chose it based on how the name sounded, what vibe it gave off. Lorcan sounds like someone who'd be pretty chill, while Lysander sounds like he would be a bit more, you know, more.

The other reason is because of their name meanings. Lysander means "liberator" and the name Lorcan means "little fierce one", which is kind of how I try to write them. Lysander has a really strong sense of justice, Lorcan is passive but confident. Lysander becomes an Auror, Lorcan becomes a Magizoologist and physically cares for/handles the creatures. You gotta be pretty fierce and brave to handle beast's, yknow?

Lysander keeps his hair neat and short, he wears glasses and was sorted into Ravenclaw, and he has trouble making friends and talking to people.

Lorcan’s hair is longer and wavy/curly. He has freckles, he was sorted into Hufflepuff, he's a Legilimens, he's super kind and easygoing so he can make friends easily, but he feels more comfortable around his brother (because of his legilimency he gets migraines and Lysander has predictable thoughts so his presence is relaxing).

Lysander is NOT good with animals. He's straight (maybe bi), and Lorcan is aroace (cuz I want more aroace characters).

Lorcan is super similar to Luna, but Lysander is actually most similar to Theseus Scamander or Tina Goldstein (both Aurors, you may recal 🫢).

But they're both good boys and I love them so so much 🥺🤧 thanks for the ask, it was fun!
